Your cloth handles wiping and drying. These handle everything else.

There are jobs in your kitchen that no cloth was designed for.  The carbon residue baked into the base of your cast iron.  The stubborn ring at the bottom of a thermos.  The mud packed into the skin of a burdock root.  The grease lodged in the grooves of a knife mark.

These are tools built specifically for the job.

Tawashi scrubbers are made from natural palm and sisal fiber: materials dense enough to reach into grooves and crevices, firm enough to lift what's actually stuck there.  They clean cast iron, root vegetables, bottles, and non-stick surfaces.

Sekino Daidokoro sources these directly from the artisans who make them by hand in Wakayama, Japan.  We chose them for the same reason we choose everything: because they do what they're supposed to do better than anything else.

The right tool for the job you've been improvising

These tawashi were built for a specific task.  The Kinoko Tawashi uses longer, straighter fibers cut to lift embedded dirt from your best cookware without a scratch.  The Twist Tawashi is sized to fit your palm and safe on Teflon-coated surfaces where abrasive scrubbers cause damage.  The Bottle Tawashi has a rounded tip shaped to reach the base of a flask or thermos with a single twist.

These are not replacements for tools you already trust.  They are the tools for the jobs those tools were never meant to do.

Built by hand.  Chosen carefully.  Add one to your kitchen.
